Along the famous Highway 395, shadowed by the highest peak in the contiguous United States, Mt. Whitney, resides Alabama Hills. This eastern Sierra Nevada playground has been the backdrop for various films including The Lone Ranger, How the West Was Won and Iron Man making "Movie Flats" a popular destination. With the nearest city of Lone Pine only hosting 2,000 residents the low light pollution makes this a popular destination for stargazing and escaping big city life.

My favorite trip so far has been in Colorado in June of last year. I and a few other Toyota Tundra enthusiasts planned a long weekend of trail rides and outdoor adventures in the Denver area. The truck was pretty much bone stock at the time, and it handled the trails (which climb up to 9,800 feet!) like a champ. I look forward to getting back on the trail now that the truck is lifted and has quite a bit more armor installed thanks to Cali Raised LED.

Joining us this month to tell us about their trip to Mojave Road Trail, Brett P. took his Tacoma to this trail and shared his story with us.

Vehicle: Magnetic Grey Metallic 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport
Rig Name: Riddick (like the movie) because my truck has characteristics of The Riddick. It's dark grey with all black accents (no chrome). The running lights are white LED and resemble the white yes of Riddick.
Number of Cali Raised LED Products: 10

Favorite Cali Raised LED Product?**

I use the Light Brackets and Pods the most, of course, and think they were a great find for adding auxiliary lighting to my Tacoma. Second would be my Storage Tray. That thing is awesome and I use it every day. All of the Cali Raised products I have are amazing and the people behind them make them that much better.

Favorite Trip?

Sam Houston National Park. I went on a two-day camping trip with my wife and my dogs in the early spring of 2018 when it was nice and cool out.

Until next time! At Cali Raised LED, we not only want to encourage riders to try something new, (with all the proper precautions of course!) but also to not be too shy when it comes to checking out trails that they may not have thought possible. It's in our very slogan, "Rise Up and Seek Adventure." We really mean it.

Thank you to @teksou for sharing your story with us.

If you haven't figured it out yet, we've been featuring a trail or national park or other must see location each month of the year, and sometimes we are lucky enough to find other off-roaders who have been there. They are kind enough to share their experience and their expertise. Want to be featured? Have a trail you think we should feature? Submit your photos and story to partners@caliraisedled.com to be considered!
